In recent years, happiness, wellness and harmony have taken the front burner especially after the devastating effects of COVID-19 with its attendant challenges especially emotional toll.
All of a sudden within the context of work, happiness has morphed into something that is very important and really matters- beyond the hours at work, the perks and the pay.
We have compiled a list of questions to help you measure where your happiness quotient probably lies (on a good day that is!)
Take a minute and consider your answer to these ten (10) questions:
- My work is clear and I know my contributions are important
- I can see the positive impact of what I do to the organization outcome and results.
- I know everyone’s role is equally important in the organization.
- I can discuss my needs as they change and receive all the support I need.
- My work supports my life; my life my work and both are balanced.
- I am confident my career aspirations are fully being met or will be met.
- My work encourages me to innovate and rewards my creativity.
- The organization cares for me and the things that are important to me.
- I bring my unique perceptive to the job and the organization appreciates it.
- I am all I can be and feel like an important part of a team.
The sum of your response -positive or negative to these questions, is a reflection of how emotionally attached you are to your work and your place on the happiness barometer.
Organisations can do more to ensure the overall wellbeing and happiness of their people is equally at the front burner.
